The name and the logo behind the idea of The Naked Bow came to me in a flash of inspiration one early morning, caught up in that surreal space between dreams and awakening. It was like it already existed in the distant future, and I only needed to lay down the stepping stones to reach it.
This vision came just hours prior to finding out that a bowyer mentor friend of mine
had passed away unexpectedly. I took it as a sign to bring that vision to life someday;
I took it as one last gift from the bowyer who helped me learn to build longbows.
The name rises out of the pureness and simplicity of traditional archery
— bare bones, bare bows, and basic materials — The Naked Bow.
It harkens to the unadorned ancient beauty of our natural surroundings and
the elemental nature of hunting that is essential to our human story.
Elegance in the absence of excess.
This is a digital backwoods for traditional archery, where we hope to explore the timeless and untarnished paths which lead a person deeper into that sacred wilderness that lives within us all.
